You have: • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Computer Science & 6 years related quality assurance experience • Expert level knowledge of MS Office S/W suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) • Expert level networking setup/troubleshooting skills • Expert level knowledge of SQL and/or XML • Expert level ability to lead independently and as part of a team • Expert level ability to define guidelines/instructions • Expert level written and verbal communication skills • Able to lead 5 projects to successful completion • Able to multi-task • Fast learner and innovative with the ability to work in fast-paced environment
Even better if you have: • Retail industry and/or Point-of-Sale product knowledge • Advance experience working in a project team model • Advanced knowledge of QA roles within different SDLC models (e.g. Waterfall, Agile, RUP) • Advanced experience with a commercially available test management tool (e.g. Microsoft Test Manager, Zephyr, Quality Center) • Advanced experience with defect tracking tools including query/report creation • Advanced automated test development experience a plus
The day-to-day: As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for writing and executing test cases. You will interact daily with other team members to ensure that a quality product is delivered in a timely manner. Strong customer dedication, drive for results, teamwork and problem-solving competencies are expected. You will also:
• Develops, executes, tracks and documents results for manual test cases for assigned projects and features using VSTS 2010/TFS Test Manager and Jira • Investigates product and effectively identifies where breakage may occur • Review functional specifications, participate in design and provide input into test plans for assigned projects • Provide input to existing software development cycle to improve/refine its impacts to the product release • Prepare project estimates and work plans necessary to achieve the goals for building, testing and maintaining the products in collaboration with team • Contributes to status reports and summarizes testing progress in departmental and project team meetings • Alerts more senior personnel and escalates when necessary if timetables and milestones are in danger of not being met • Develops tests for future regression of projects/features • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience • 1 Years related experience • Experience with MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint • Excellent communication skills; Ability to effectively communicate and present across multiple business functions • Experience working directly with customers and end users • Practical experience with Quality Assurance processes, procedures and standards • Basic knowledge of SQL and/or XML • Understanding technical and usability aspects as they relate to quality
