JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a member of the Retail Hardware Engineering group, you will assist with the design and test of electrical components and assemblies from product concept to implementation under the direction of a senior electrical engineer. You will be responsible for soliciting, receiving and managing quotes, organizing information transfer, and other typical vendor management tasks. You will be asked to perform qualification testing on new and existing products and present the findings as well as make recommendations for resolving issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist with designing and/or conducting design modification of systems or subsystems Perform a variety of tests on equipment and evaluate results (lab debugging) Help build and test prototype equipment and products Assist with writing specifications and preparing cost estimates for projects Assist with resolving engineering problems of low to moderate complexity Interface with suppliers and various NCR groups (operations, product management, services, etc..) Drive product enhancement and cost down initiatives Knowledge or experience with PC technology a plus Other job related duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS: Sophomore or Junior level college student working towards a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Ability to work with “team spirit” as a member of the product development team Good oral and written communication skills Self-starter, high energy Visual acuity and manual dexterity
