Position Summary The Transaction Payments Back Office (TPBO) division is an integral part of NCR’s software line of business focusing the financial industry. This division innovates, creates and maintains mission critical, high volume, payment transaction software applications in use at financial institutions all over the world. As the Software Engineering Director, you will be responsible for the software engineering team and its deliverables for the suite of products in the Transaction Payments Back Office division. The leader in this role will lead a global team of 200 people - balancing multiple priorities, driving innovation, delivering on new software capabilities and supporting existing products. This role will report into the VP of Financial Services and collaborate directly with Solution Management, Professional Services and Software Support organizations for the solutions.

Key areas of responsibility:

o Manage the delivery for NCR’s Transaction Payments Back Office Solutions o Lead and coordinate multiple teams of approximately 200 people consisting of Architects, Developers, Quality Analysts, Project Managers, Product Owners, and Managers supporting multiple solutions o Build and lead a software engineering organization where collaboration, customer delight and passion for their work are the key tenets of the team culture o Design a software engineering organization structure, process and culture that promote lean development principles ensuring overall product quality and on-time delivery of the solution roadmap o Partner with Solution Management to understand business needs, align priorities, and execute on strategies to deliver a solutions portfolio that will drive success for our customers and the business o Act strategically for long term success but operate tactically to deliver results and meet customer needs o Establish processes and build skills to drive overall product quality and superior customer satisfaction o Oversee the development of the solution architecture to drive long term efficiencies and quality

Successful candidates will have the following qualifications:

o Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering o 15 years in software development with experience managing and leading development teams o Experience running a geographically diverse development team with a proven ability to manage efficiency, budgets and operating costs o Experience with modern SW development methodologies like Agile, Scrum, test automation, continuous delivery and Devops o Working knowledge of various technology stacks like enterprise Java, .Net, Oracle, SQL and NoSQL o Experience in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Micro-Service technology utilizing Kubernetes & Docker o Winning style with customers including relationship management skills and a proven ability to explain technical topics in an understandable way o Ability to manage the deliverables attached to the organization’s strategic software roadmap with a focus on customer success, speed to market and quality o Practical technical experience driving solutions architecture o Collaborative style with the ability to manage competing stakeholders including Executive Leadership, Sales and Services o Ability to be hands-on and fly above at 10,000 feet with the intuition to know the best times to do each Successful candidates will also be described by their colleagues and friends as… o An agent for change and even a visionary o An excellent communicator at all levels o An expert multi-tasker o Happy in an agile, fast-paced environment o In possession of a High EQ o Able to communicate complex concepts in a concise and understandable way Visit our careers site for a list of the benefits offered in your region in addition to a competitive base salary and strong work/family programs.
