POSITION SUMMARY & KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY NCR are looking for a dynamic software engineer to join their highly talented Interactive Services Software team. Working in a blue-chip multi-national organisation, you will contribute to the development of video based internet applications using mobile and modern web technologies.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO: * Cross functional member of a scrum team * Development of high quality software * Develop and improve test driven development practices using test automation tools * Participate in all scrum ceremonies – sprint planning, daily standup, review, retrospective etc. * Identify improvements in Engineering processes and tools * Provide input and technical content for technical documentation, user help materials and customer training * Participate in code review sessions * Investigations & troubleshooting to understand and resolve any defects found * Participate in the required project release activities * Possess good understanding of Agile development principles and practices * Use and try to improve on Agile tools being used in development * Become familiar with Continuous Improvement and Lean Agile principles

- 2-3 years experience as a software developer
- Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or related field
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
- Experience in development of web applications
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of software quality
- Should be strong in Object Oriented analysis and design
- Good understanding of Software Development and Quality Assurance best practices
- Good debugging and troubleshooting techniques
- Ability to understand customer requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Experience with C# and/or Java * Experience with SQL Server * Experience with REST web services * Experience with relational databases * Experience with development tools used for unit test automation and continuous improvements * Worked in any Software Development Life Cycle model – added advantage if already worked in Agile environment * Knowledge of Spring Framework (e.g. Spring Core, Spring Data) and other Java-related technologies or AngularJS / Bootstrap / mobile development is an added advantage
