As we continue to grow the business and as part of our growth plans, we are always looking at ways of making improvements to our development processes. To assist us with that aim, we are looking to recruit a committed and skilled graduate to work with us on a 12 month project at our Dundee R&D facility, which aims to deliver product release efficiency improvements. Following the successful delivery of the project, we would anticipate that the role will become permanent.
Graduate Systems Engineer

As part of a corporate wide initiative, NCR is trying to reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) of its entire product portfolio. This , in turn, will result in significant cost, quality and time to market benefits for NCR as well as vastly improving the customer experience.
As part of this TCO initiative NCR is creating a project based role within its R&D Product Engineering team for a graduate to assist with improvements to the overall product electronic systems design.
Within its 12 month tenure the role will encompass :- •Gaining a full working knowledge of the electronic systems design of the existing product range •Working as part of a team to help apply lessons learned from existing designs to new state-of-the-art product developments •Contributing towards the successful launch of the next exciting NCR range of products.
This is an outstanding placement opportunity for a hungry and talented graduate who is keen to build a career in a fast paced business environment. The role will quickly take on responsibility, becoming immersed in projects and engaging tasks, while building relationships across the wider NCR team
This is initially a 12 month role and a review will be undertaken towards the end of the project to determine the options for extending the placement or transitioning to a permanent role.
Working as part of a team the successful applicant will be expected to contribute to reducing the total cost of ownership of the entire product range. In turn, this will result in improvements in the triple constraint of schedule, cost and quality – culminating in increased margin for NCR and greater ‘delight’ for customers.
The project will be carried out with support from our Engineering Managers and Senior Electronic Engineers. Key activities will be:- •Gaining a full working knowledge of the electronic systems design of the existing product range •Working as part of a team to help apply lessons learned from existing designs to new state-of-the-art product developments •Contributing towards the successful launch of the next exciting NCR range of products.
Qualifications •Minimum 2.1 or higher (or equivalent) in an Engineering related subject
Skills / Experience
•Experienced in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel software (Advanced Excel user an advantage) •Excellent written and verbal communication skills •Ability to deliver projects/tasks within agreed timescales •Enthusiastic and self-motivated with ability to take initiative •Analogue and Digital Design methodologies knowledge •Microcontroller/Microprocessor system design knowledge •Relevant Work experience in a similar role would also be an advantage
