TITLE: Engineering Technician LOCATION: Atlanta, GA GRADE: 9

POSITION SUMMARY & KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:* * Collaborates with mechanical and electrical engineers in meeting the requirements of the product or device being developed. * Develops and performs tests to ensure the product meets design requirements. * Applies knowledge and experience to support designs that are functionally complete in a timely manner. * Responsible for evaluating products and devices according to recognized standards and procedures. * Builds and debugs prototype hardware (mechanical and electrical) in a “hands on” environment. * Maintains engineering lab space; keeps tools, parts, and equipment organized.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: * Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline. * Internships and/or 2-3 years of related work experience. * Willing and able to travel domestically or internationally (<5% overall time). * Able to lift at least 50 lbs. * Able to solder circuit board components. * Experience with various electrical diagnostic tools (oscilloscope, multi-meter, microscope, etc.). * Experience with common hand and power tools (drills, saws, etc.). * Experience with light sheet metal fabrication and modification (cutting, grinding, bending, etc.). * Ability to run diagnostic software for the purposes of testing/debugging hardware components. * Familiarity with EMC, safety, and environmental product testing procedures. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * 5 years of related experience. * Ability to debug circuit board designs. * Minor familiarity with firmware debugging and testing. * Record of debugging EMC/EMI issues to meet regulatory standards.
